Andres Moreno And Ernest Bachrach Appointed As Endeavor Miami Co-Chairs; Michael Simkins Joins Board of Directors

  • New co-chairs will provide strategic guidance to support Endeavor Miami’s continuous growth, selecting and providing services to South Florida’s high-impact entrepreneurs

MIAMI (May 16th, 2019) – Endeavor Miami announced today that Andres Moreno, founder and CEO of Open Education and Ernest Bachrach, former Managing Partner of Advent International will be leading the Board moving forward as the new co-chairs. Moreno is currently Chairman and CEO of Open Education, the leading online education platform in Latin America. Bachrach is a dual US/Argentine national with over 30 years’ experience in international private equity.

As co-chairs, Bachrach and Moreno will drive the Board agenda and work closely with the Managing Director to support Endeavor Miami’s continuous growth, selecting and providing services to South Florida’s high-impact entrepreneurs. They will be building on the work driven by founding co-chairs,  Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros Group and Daniel Echavarria, Managing Partner of Ganolian Investments.

Under Cisneros and Echavarria’s co-chairmanship, the Board helped the founding Managing Director, drive Endeavor Miami’s strategic direction, which has grown to support twenty-four companies from diverse industries led by over forty entrepreneurs. “We couldn’t be more grateful to Adriana and Danny for the work they’ve done these past six years,” said Ernest Bachrach. “It is thanks to their leadership that the Endeavor Miami Board has had such tremendous impact and given significant contributions to the organization. We are lucky to continue counting on their support as Board Members.”

The new co-chairs will continue to work closely with the Managing Director and team to help steer the vision and mission of Endeavor Miami to support its growth plans over the next few years. Bachrach and Moreno bring tremendous business experience to the table. As CEO, Moreno oversees the company’s holdings, including Open English, the premier online language platform in Latin America, and Next U, the fastest growing digital skills learning platform in the region. “Having been part of Endeavor Miami’s founding board of directors it is a true privilege to return to serve in this capacity,” said Moreno. “As an entrepreneur, I understand first-hand the need for mentoring and support when developing a new venture. Endeavor plays a vital role in helping propel big ideas forward!”

Bachrach was formerly a Managing Partner at Advent International, a global private equity firm where he was also Chairman of the firm’s Latin American investment committee. He currently serves as a member of the board of Bunge Group (NYSE:BG) as well as the board of the Harvard Center for Latin American Studies.

Endeavor Miami also announced that Michael Simkins, President and CEO of Lion Development Group, will be joining its Board of Directors. Lion Development Group will transform an underutilized 10 acre property spanning 4 blocks in downtown Miami into a 24-hour thriving, global, connected “live-work-play” ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship. The company specializes in world-class development and redevelopment projects in communities centered on the intersection of technology, culture and the arts.

He brings a unique perspective that will be very valuable to our Board and our entrepreneurs.”
