Endeavor Miami made our mark at 2017’s eMerge Americas event with participation from our entrepreneurs, mentors and board mentors. Thanks to Knight Foundation for partnering with us on our booth!
In our Entrepreneur Spotlight, we hosted Endeavor Entrepreneurs from EveryMundo, SheWorks!, Pincho Factory, Citizen and Powerful Yogurt. Wyncode and Kairos also made a showing at the conference, along with several companies in our pipeline.
We kicked off eMerge Americas at a lunch bringing together the networks of Endeavor Miami, 500 Startups and AGP Miami. Later, Endeavor Miami co-chair, Adriana Cisneros, took to the main stage with her father, Gustavo Cisneros, for a keynote conversation, discussing the historic and present growth of their company and the promise of Latin American markets in coming years.
That afternoon, Endeavor Miami’s managing director, Laura Maydón, moderated “Innovating and Scaling Across Markets” with Endeavor Entrepreneurs from across our global network. Panelists included Endeavor Mexico’s Claudia de Heredia (Kickink), Endeavor Colombia’s Sebastian Jasminoy (FLUVIP) and Endeavor Miami’s Seth Cassel (EveryMundo). We wrapped up the day with an exciting performance from Armando Christian Perez, aka Pitbull.
The second day of eMerge Americas took us to the WIT stage (Women in Tech), with Endeavor Miami board member, Melissa Medina, welcoming and introducing the panel “Social Impacts of Being an Entrepreneur”. Endeavor Entrepreneur, Silvina Moschini, founder of SheWorks!, participated in the panel, speaking to her company’s focus on social responsibility. Matt Haggman, Endeavor Miami board member and Miami program director at Knight Foundation, moderated a panel with Magic Leap’s CEO and the University of Miami’s dean of engineering. Endeavor Miami board member, Maurice Ferré, closed out the conference on a panel discussing the next generation of success for tech companies in South Florida.
