Endeavor Miami’s EndeavorLAB empowers Florida-based underrepresented founders to scale their businesses.
Florida – March 8th, 2023 – Endeavor Miami has announced the 10 participants selected for its upcoming EndeavorLAB cohort for Latinx Founders, powered by VensureHR. EndeavorLAB is a cohort-based initiative designed to support underrepresented founders in Florida in building a foundation for scale. The cohort for Latinx Founders is EndeavorLAB’s 9th edition since first launching in July 2020, when the City of Miami sponsored the debut cohort with a focus on women founders. The initiative leverages Endeavor’s over 20 years of knowledge and best-in-class services and tools used to support entrepreneurs around the world, and is eligible for Florida-based companies who have found product-market-fit and are generating between $50K and $500K in annual revenues.
The 10 businesses selected for this cohort embody the entrepreneurial spirit and grit of Latinx founders. Nearly all the companies were founded within the last four years, and operate in verticals such as Enterprise SaaS, Fintech, Smart Cities and Healthcare; a significant 40% are in the Edtech space. Over 70% of the cohort has more than 5 team members and in total, the 10 companies employ today a total of 92 individuals. The businesses are led by eight serial entrepreneurs and two first-time founders, amongst whom two are previous Techstars participants and another took part in Y Combinator. What’s more, the founders have raised in total over $6M in funding to date, from which over half have raised venture capital. With a projected collective revenue of nearly $12M in 2023 and a minimum growth rate of 100% YoY, this collective of home-grown businesses is poised to make a significant impact in the Florida startup scene and beyond.
“EndeavorLAB’s Latinx Founders Cohort is an incredible opportunity for Latinx entrepreneurs in Florida to gain support and access to tools and resources they need to grow their businesses,” says Claudia Duran, Managing Director of Endeavor Miami. “We’re proud to partner with VensureHR to make this cohort a reality, and we’re excited to see the impact that the founders of these ten companies will make in their industries.”
The cohort for Latinx Founders presents an opportunity for Latinx entrepreneurs to access Endeavor Miami’s world-class resources and support network. This initiative provides a practical and tactical methodology for scaling businesses, the chance to become pitch ready, and access to a vibrant community of high-quality entrepreneurs. Through participation in this cohort, founders will receive expert guidance, one-on-one mentorship, and knowledge on scaling up, enabling them to take their businesses to the next level. Additionally, the cohort provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect and collaborate with other high-potential startups, establish relationships, and create synergies that can drive future growth.
Founders selected for the cohort will take part in preparatory activities in the upcoming weeks to acquaint them with the Endeavor model and to enable an environment of authentic exchanges and learning. Founders will then undergo five weeks of group modules and individual mentorship sessions focused on gearing up for scale. The initiative culminates with a pitch to the Endeavor community for feedback, as well as exposure and opportunities for growth through Endeavor’s multiplier effect.
“VensureHR is extremely excited to be partnering with EndeavorLAB for their LatinX cohort. Vensure is passionate about supporting underserved business communities, which is why we officially launched our Latin American Affairs program in November 2022. Latinos are 1.7x more likely to start a business than any other racial group in the United States, yet they receive less than 1% of funds from today’s top VC and PE investors. Vensure believes partnering with Endeavor Miami can help bridge that gap by creating a diverse ecosystem of & for Latin business owners across Florida, and by connecting them to life changing resources such as our HR technology and team of HR experts,” shared Alexandra Blaco, Sales Enablement & Engagement Specialist at VensureHR.
